A lady has been sentenced to life in jail for the beating demise of a College of Southern California graduate scholar from China, and a co-defendant was given a time period of 15 years to life.
Twenty-year-old Alejandra Guerrero was sentenced Friday on a first-degree homicide conviction within the 2014 assault on engineering scholar Xinran Ji. Her jail time period is with out chance of parole.
Authorities say Guerrero received out of a automobile to beat Ji with a wrench, whereas 23-year-old co-defendant Jonathan Del Carmen remained within the automobile. Del Carmen pleaded responsible to second-degree homicide.
Deputy District Legal professional John McKinney says after the assault Ji staggered to his off-campus condo the place he died.
A 3rd co-defendant is already serving life with out parole and a fourth is awaiting trial.
