Sikh Woman First to Wear Turban as NY Auxiliary Police Officer

In New York, Auxiliary Police Officers act as liaison between communities and the police division. Lately, Gursoch Kaur made headlines when she turned the primary feminine Sikh officer to serve within the Auxiliary Unit carrying a dastar, the normal Sikh turban. Often dastars are worn by Sikh males, however some girls select to put on them to lift consciousness about their faith.
