Conflict Resumes in Karen State After Myanmar Army Returns

In Myanmar’s Karen state, greater than 2,000 former displaced individuals have been uprooted once more after authorities troops violated a 2015 cease-fire settlement by coming into territory managed by the ethnic armed group to assemble a army street. Greater than 60 years of civil struggle between the Karen Nationwide Union and the Myanmar military has left greater than 100,000 Karen refugees in camps alongside the Thai-Myanmar border.
